New Site Layout

November 22nd, 2005

We’ve rolled out a new look and feel for our project site today, a change that will give us a little more breathing room as we add new content.

Along with the updated appearance comes a new addition to the site. The Styles section is a first step toward providing an organized collection of Sage customizations from the community. If you know of a Sage Style that you’d like to see in our collection, feel free to submit it to the mailing list. Thanks to Ben Branders for his help in creating this resource.

Our friends at Mozilla Update have been dealing with lots of change over the last few months and have been unable to process extension updates until recently, hence the delay in getting this release listed.

Sage 1.3 Released

November 17th, 2004

Sage 1.3 has been released. Here’s what’s new:

  • Live Bookmarks Integration
Sage now interprets Live Bookmarks just as it does regular bookmarks, allowing the user to subscribe to feeds using the auto-discovery mechanism in Firefox. Live Bookmarks may be added to your Sage Feeds folder using Firefox’s orange feed indicator icon, making them available for reading in the Sage sidebar. This gives users a quick and easy subscription method, while Sage’s built-in ‘Discover Feeds’ function provides a more thorough scan.
  • Feed Item Toolbar and Mark Read/Unread
Sage now supports marking feed items as read or unread. To do this you can either use the feed item context menu or the Feed Item List Toolbar. The following keyboard shortcuts are available (As usual you can hold down shift or ctrl when clicking the feed item to open it a new window or tab):
M Toggles the read state of the selected feed item
Ctrl+Shift+C Marks all feed items as read.
Enter Open selected feed item in current tab/window
Shift+Enter Open selected feed item in a new window
Ctrl+Enter Open selected feed item in a new tab
  • Enhanced Locale Support
Thanks to the efforts of our localization group, Sage now has full native support for Catalan, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Swedish locales.
  • Many bug fixes and miscellaneous enhancements.

Special thanks to Erik Arvidsson, Guillaume Criloux, and everyone else on the Sage team for making this release happen. A big hat tip to our community for all the bug reports, suggestions, and patches that keep helping us take Sage to the next level.
