Thank you! Sage is usable again.

    Still there are some issues/requests:

    * “Refresh” button does not seem to do anything.

    * It is not obvious how auto-update works, (if it works at all). How often? Should I see any progress indication? Does it load whole xml every time for each feed, or just asks server about last modification dates?

    * Minor UI inconsistency: when Feed Item List is enabled in side-bar, and you click on a feed in the main list, _all_ feed item elements are initially displayed in bold (unread), and in a moment update their status properly. It would be good to display the right status right away.

    * Feature request: when feeds are grouped in folders, mark folders as having feeds with unread entries. This is especially useful when a folder is collapsed.

    P.S.
Debian GNU Linux (Wheezy), Iceweasel 22.0

…is it possible to find what has just been updated if I already had a bunch of feeds with unread items?

    This version works properly.
    Win7 64bit. Fx 22.

  5. Antonio says:

Hi I have 2 pc’s on both windows 7 64bit. the day before yesterday I upgraded to firefox portable version of 22, and verified that Sage it did not work I updated to version 1.5. The strange thing is that it works on a PC and the other not.
When I start firefox panel Sage is empty and if I do a restore of bookmarks appear in all the sage rss saved. Also, if I go to the preferences of Sage when I try to change the folder feeds the ok button is not working. Even the beta version 1.5.1 has the same problems.

    • Antonio says:

I was able to solve the problem. First I removed the Sage plugin firefox. I deleted the sage folder from the bookmarks, I reinstalled the plugin 1.5.1. Sage. Then I imported the list of feeds from an OPML file and everything seems to work well

  6. Xeron says:

Some feeds don’t load in Sage but can be loaded with Firefox without problems (example: http://gbatemp.net/forums/-/index.rss ). This is blocking the other updates as Sage tries to load and load and load.

Another similar problem is that the itemlist is updated if the feed is clicked but the corresponding tab never finishes loaded – the feed is accessable in Firefox like above (example: http://www.mangaupdates.com/rss.php )

I can’t file these bugs on github because I don’t have an account and don’t won’t to create one just for this.

    • I’ve addressed the issue with the first feed you mention here. Try beta 2.

      • Xeron says:

Yep, first one is fixed. Second one isn’t…yet

        One more thing:
I had problems with “Check all feeds” but that is gone with this beta (good work!)….but if you have the tab of one feed open and the feed checking finds new entries the tab isn’t updated. Not even after clicking the feed again. You have to click another feed/link/whatever and then again on the feed that got updated. Example is the same as for my first bug above (as it’s a rss for a forum it gets updated often.

        • Good observation, I think we’ll want feeds to reload when clicked on again in the sidebar. Filed two issues:

          https://github.com/petea/sage/issues/105
          https://github.com/petea/sage/issues/104

          • Xeron says:

One small thing about issue 105:
It does reload but only the overview in the sidebar not the associated tab (like I said it is enough to click another feed and then again the one you want to look at).

          • Xeron says:

I don’t know how (sage wasn’t update) but issue 105 got fixed for the feed I mentioned…There could have been some “malformed” entries in the feed that got thrown out of the feed today. In the past the feed often had some entires that were colored a different way (the exact color wouldn’t help I think as I use a custom css) so that were probably entries without links (never click on them on that feed, titles are enough there). So issue 105 could be related to issue 67.

          • Xeron says:

eh…last post was about issue 104 of course^^

          • Xeron says:

Yeah…like I thought. Now the problem is back and there is a new “linkless” item in the feed,

“Check Feeds” button does not work yet with Sage 1.5.1 Beta.

    My Environment:
    Mac OS X 10.7.5, Firefox 22.0, Sage 1.5.1 Beta.

These are error messages by Tools > Web Developer > Error Console.
Error messages are displayed when I boot Firefox, and No error messages when I push “Check Feeds”.
