I had to use this URL to get the official 1.4.5 update:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/77

    The other URL
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/file/79182/sage-1.4.5-fx.xpi needs a login, but the one I mentioned works without a login.

And at first sight, 1.4.5 works ok with FF 3.6

Gosh I’ve been wating for this! :)

The icons wont update until you hover over them with your mouse.

  8. pd says:

thanks for this, I’ve been lost with my sage. Every time firefox updates they break sage compat and I keep looking for another RSS reader but nothing matches the Sage.

  9. Thanks for the update!

  10. Robin says:

Good to see Sage updated, but my install seems broken. Its not possible to select any folder other than Bookmarks Menu as the feed folder – is this normal? Any idea what pref(s) I can hack on to fix it?

    • mpaka says:

I have the same issue. Can’t select folder where my feeds are. I can select different folder but the “ok” button doesn’t do anything.

      • mpaka says:

Issue solved. I had a double “Feed” file in my bookmarks folder. I removed the copy and Sage is working!! Thank you! Best Rss reader!

  11. RichC says:

Super … thanks for the relatively quick update. Next time I’ll be a bit slower to auto-update Firefox — I don’t like being without my favorite add-on!

  12. Paige says:

Im not sure I like this new version of Sage. It doesnt behave like 1.4.4 behaved. Specifically, when I hit the Check Feeds button, 1.4.4 turned each feed bold if it found new posts … so as 1.4.4 went down the list, you could see each one turn bold in sequence. In 1.4.5, they dont turn bold unless I specifically move my cursor over the feed name. Is that how it is supposed to work? (Windows XP, Firefox 3.6 if that matters)

  13. Chuck Pettis says:

The following URL shows double entries on some articles, when the actual RSS feed when viewed with live bookmarks does not.
    chrome://sage/content/feedsummary.html?uri=http%3A%2F%2Frss.news.yahoo.com%2Frss%2Fentertainment
    http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/entertainment

thanks for this eager awaited update!

    Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!

  16. EJC says:

After I upgraded FF and realized sage was incompatible, I migrated all my rss feeds to google reader.

Now now matter where I look at a feed, its updated and I dont have to mark an article read – twice.

    Wish sage did this….

  17. Jim G says:

I found the folder all my rss feeds are at and used Sage to locate them and the name of the folder is now wiped out. Is there any way to retain the name of the folder?

    • ThunderFox says:

I am wondering how to keep the folder name from being erased too. It happens every time I open the Bookmarks Toolbar or organize my bookmarks. Very annoying.

      • Darby says:

Sage keeps changing the name of my folder to (no title) and renaming newly added feed names to their long name. All feeds that were in place when I updated have kept their short names I gave them under Sage a few revisions ago.

  18. Jim says:

Sage 1.4.5 causes high CPU load of around 20% on my Firefox 3.6. After starting Firefox CPU load is normal then starts increasing after a while up to 20%. Sage sidebar is opened all the time. After disabling Sage it went back to normal.

  19. Mark says:

Thank you thank you thank you.

Recent upgrades of Firefox have been a nightmare as far as I’m concerned.

They crapped out dozens of my extension, including Sage.

I’d heard that Sage was dead and have been looking for an alternative, but none of them seem to offer the functionality and usability of Sage.

Whatever yoou do keep this going.

Sage creates new “sage feeds” folder in bookmark each time when I start firefox, Why?
